______The National Search and Rescue Centre (NSRC) and Bayanat will combine efforts to develop and monetize a new approach for testing Emergency Locator Transmitters (ELT) for commercial and military aircraft.
Process
PROPOSED PROCESS
  • Test is performed under open sky with ELTs installed
  • ELT is activated, signal is picked up by the satellite, transmitted onto the ground station
  • Because system is aware of ELT being tested, no alert is initiated
  • NSRC system sends technical details of the message received to the testing portal
  • Notification is sent to the technician's mobile device, test certificate is automatically generated by the system

1. Aircraft is rolled into the hangar
2. ELTs are removed from the aircraft and brought into the workshop
3. Antenna is disconnected and ELT is connected to the special device that reads signal parameters
4. Test is executed
5. Results are analyzed and certificate is issued
